WT: Having the Best Year in History of Program

April 3, 2008

Honolulu, HI- Chaminade is an athletic program with rich athletic tradition. Most notably its men basketball team and women's volleyball team. Could the tides be turning towards women's tennis? This year's Chaminade women's tennis team has won more games than any other team in the history of the program, they are currently 6-12 overall with four matches left in the season.

The Silverswords are coached by 1st year coach, Blake Mosley. Coach Mosley is no stranger to the tennis court; he was ranked the # 3 player in the Texas Open Division in 1999. He said about the outstanding season to date, "It's important that we continue to recruit great athletes to keep the success moving forward. Hopefully we can continue to get quality athletes at a high level and build on the success of this season."

CUH definitely has hands full in the Pacific West Conference. Currently three teams in the Pacific West Conference are ranked in the top 3 in Division Two tennis. Despite the odds against them the Silverswords of Chaminade University have represented themselves and the University at a high level all season long. Thanks in large part to its athletes and Coach Mosley. When asked about the coaching "secret" to this year's remarkable season for the Silverswords he said, "With the system Coach Bob and I put in place our team has stepped up and as a result we have won the most games in the program's history."

Chaminade travels to the mainland on April 8th and will return home back the islands on April 10th. On their road trip they will take on three Pacific West Conference opponents, Dixie State University, Grand Canyon University and Notre Dame de Namur University. The last match of the season is against the University of Hawaii on April 20th.

Only time will tell which direction the women's tennis team is headed, one thing is for sure, with Coach Blake Mosley at the helm the Chaminade tennis program will be a force to be reckoned with in the Pacific West Conference in the years to come and more importantly on the Division Two stage of college tennis.
