CUH Harriers Start Season in Laie

Sept. 9, 2007

Laie, HI- Chaminade Cross Country opened the season at the 2007 BYU Hawaii Cross Country Invitational today in Laie.

The Sword women, led by Deanne Soon finished in fourth place, as Soon finished with a time of 21:15 in the 5K event. Chantelle Laan of the University of Hawaii won the race with a time of 18:40. Joelle Tanaka finished in 22nd place with a time of 22:25. The Vulcans of UH-Hilo won the team event for the women with a team total of 46 points.

On the men's side. Chaminade was led by Tyler Pickle, who finished in 16th place with a time of 30:51 in the 8K event. Toby Castro finished right behind Pickle, with a time of 31:21. Hawaii Pacific won the team event on the men's side, finishing with the top three runners, led by Brandon Laan, who came in at 27:28.

Chaminade is back in action in Laie, HI at 8am next Saturday for the Chaminade Invitational.
