Soon and Pickle lead the way for Chaminade Harriers

Kaneohe, HI- The always competitive UH-Manoa Big Wave Invitational proved to be so again this Saturday at the Klipper Golf Course in Kaneohe.

Leading the ay for the Chaminade Women was Deanne Soon, who ran a 17:08 4K for the Swords, good enough for 39th place. The next best Sword was Joelle Tanaka in 49th place with a 18:28 4K. The top Division II finisher on the women's side was Karri Andrew of UH-Hilo (15:44). BYU-Hawaii won the team event for the ladies (division II only) with 119 team points.

On the men's side, Tyler Pickle and Toby Castro finished in 20th and 21st place respectively in the 5k event. Pickle ran a 18:17 5K, while Castro ran a 18:40. Chaminade finished in fifth place on the men's side with 119 team points. HPU won both team and individual honors on the men's side. The Sea Warriors scored 42 team points and Jens Munk Nielsen ran a 16:29 for the individual win.

Chaminade is back in action October 6th at the HPU Invitational in Kaneohe, HI. The event is set to start at 4:30 PM.
