Swords XC: Soon Leads the Way With 6th Place Finish

Hilo, HI- Deanne Soon led the way for Chaminade yesterday at the UH Hilo Invitational with a 6th place finish in the 6k event.

The Chaminade women finished third as a team, as the UH-Hilo women took the team title with 18 points. Amanda Whitford of BYU-Hawaii won the event individually with a time of 23:17.

The Chaminade men also finished third, with Toby Castro leading the way with a time of 21:42 in the 6k. Brand Laan of HPU won the individual title with a time of 19:50. The SeaWarriors also won the men's team event with 26 points.

The Swords are back in action in two weeks as they head to San Francisco, CA for the Pac West Championships on October 27th.
