Volleyball Team Wins Third Consecutive Match Game

Oct. 27, 2007

Honolulu, HI- The Volleyball team has won its third consecutive conference match with tonight's three game sweep of the Dixie State Rebels. The score was as follows; game one, 30-23, game two, 30-24 and game three 30-26.

Standout freshman Samantha Miller continued her impressive freshman campaign tonight with 16 kills and 10 digs. Freshman Tanya Alvino, led the offense with 39 assists. While senior Evelyn Bluthenthal, added 13 kills and 5 digs in tonight's decisive victory over the Rebels of Dixie State.

Junior Shalie Flannery led the Rebels with 6 kills, while Freshman Anna Bullard contributed 20 assists.

The Silverswords out dug the Rebels 43 to 33 tonight.

The victory moves the Silverswords 12-6 overall, 5-5 in the Pacific West Conference, while the loss for the Rebels moves them to 5-22 overall, 4-8 in the Pacific West Conference.

The Silverswords look to continue their hot streak tomorrow afternoon at McCabe Gym, when they once again take on the Rebels of Dixie State. First serve is set for 2:00 PM HT.
