High School:Tanya had a standout high school career as a setter for Coach Ghilarducci at Liberty High in Brentwood, CA. An All-League selection in the BVAL since her sophomore year, Tanya was a First Team BVAL selection as a junior and a senior. Alvino's junior year was a team best, as the Lions won sectionals and were Nor Cal Champions as the finished as state runner-up after going undefeated in the BVAL. Tanya was also a standout academically as a member of National Honor Society and being named a CIF and NSC Scholar Athlete.

Personal: Born on December 26, 1988 in San Jose California, Tanya is the daughter of Vincent and Michelle Alvino. Alvino has one younger brother, Vince.
